typically occurs as the result of a small group of employees working in a very focused manner with a facilitator for 4-6 days.
These 4-6 day events are frequently refered to as "Kaizen Events"
or "Rapid Process Improvement Events." They involve a group of employees working 8-10 hours a day focused
only on making a significant improvement to a process. Over the next month, the new process is refined as the employees
use it and implement the 30 day plan which was developed during the Kaizen Event. We have performed many of these, and above you will find examples
of what a small group of employees working with a skilled facilitator can accomplish in a short period of time. Carefully chosen, a Rapid Improvement or "Kaizen" project will
almost always have a payback period of less than 3 months. |
